Pet Ultrasound

Ultrasounds offer a non-invasive way to provide us with specialized information that is necessary in making a diagnosis. Ultrasounds require no anesthesia and allow us to look at vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, and gallbladder. Ultrasonography is also very helpful with the diagnosis of heart conditions, changes in abdominal organs, cysts, and tumors.

Reason why your pet may need an ultrasound:

  • A mass or abnormality found during a physical exam
  • Abnormal blood work or x-rays
  • Possibility of being pregnant
  • Chronic infection
  • Weight loss with no change in regular eating habits
  • Fluid in chest or abdominal area
  • Cancer diagnosis
  • Pre-Surgical procedure
